FAAC

FAAC is unusual in covering the full span from a villa gate motor to a crash-rated bollard array and a full parking operation. On large Saudi developments that breadth is a practical advantage: the same manufacturer can supply the perimeter bollards, the car park barriers, the pedestrian entrance and the automatic doors, with one commissioning standard and one service relationship behind all of it.

FAAC was founded in 1965 in Bologna, Italy, by Giuseppe Manini, who developed the first automatic gate handling system using hydraulic technology. Today FAAC Technologies is an international industrial group with more than 4,400 employees, around 50 companies across five continents, legal entities in some 30 countries, and consolidated sales of more than 700 million euros, organised around Access Solutions and Parking Solutions.

The portfolio spans gates, road barriers, bollards, tubular motors, industrial and pedestrian doors, and turnstiles. In 1993 FAAC was commissioned by Autostrade to build high-performance automatic barriers for Italian motorway toll plazas and registered its SLH self-learning technology patent — a reminder that the barrier range comes from genuine high-cycle toll experience, not light commercial roots.

In Saudi Arabia the FAAC products Stebilex is most often asked for are the retractable bollards: the J series in 48 cm and 80 cm cylinder diameters, available in standard and EFO configurations. EFO, or emergency fast operation, raises the bollard in a fraction of its normal cycle time when a threat is detected, which is the feature that distinguishes a security bollard from a traffic-management one.

Those bollards suit Saudi government buildings, embassies and diplomatic quarters, financial headquarters, airport landside entries, stadium and event perimeters and the pedestrianised plazas appearing in Riyadh and Jeddah — locations that need to look open and welcoming while retaining a hard vehicle stop that can be raised in seconds.
