FAAC JS 48 HA EFO Automatic Retractable Security Bollard

The FAAC JS 48 HA EFO combines the 48 km/h crash certification of the JS 48 platform with Emergency Fast Operation. On an emergency input the cylinder rises at 500 mm/s and reaches full 1,000 mm height in roughly 1.5 seconds, compared with about six seconds on a normal cycle.

The emergency rise is fed by a dedicated hydraulic circuit carrying a pressure reserve, so it does not wait on the pump. After an EFO event the bollard remains locked in the raised position until the EFO unit is reset, which stops a lane being reopened before the incident is cleared.

Crash performance is certified to PAS 68:2013, IWA 14-1:2013 and ASTM F2656/F2656M with a P1 penetration rating against a 7,500 kg N3 truck at 48 km/h, with 673,000 joules of break-in resistance. FAAC certifies the bollard as operational after impact.

This is the model to specify where a site needs guard-initiated lockdown but the approach geometry already limits vehicle speed — compound gates behind a chicane, internal service yards, staff entrances off a slow road, and secondary gates within a larger protected perimeter.
