Nice Road Barriers
Electromechanical road barriers with clear openings from 2.3 to 9 metres, 24 VDC gearmotors, IP54 cabinets and duty ratings up to 500 cycles per hour.
Nice road barriers are built around 24 VDC gearmotors in steel or stainless cabinets, and the range is selected primarily by clear opening and required duty. S-Bar covers openings to 4 metres, M-Bar spans 2.32 to 4.82 metres across the M3BAR, M5BAR and M7BAR models, and L-Bar with the L9BAR handles 7 to 9 metres. The Wide series covers 4 metres on Wide S and Wide M, with Wide L reaching 6 metres in a 3 plus 3 configuration using the XBA9 accessory.
Duty rating is where the specification usually gets decided, because a barrier at a busy car park entrance cycles far more often than a perimeter gate. M-Bar and L-Bar models are rated from 500 cycles per hour on the smallest through 350, 200 and 150 on the larger booms, while the Wide series runs at 100 to 300 cycles per hour and S4BAR at 100. Torque follows the same progression, from 100 Nm up to 400 Nm on L-Bar.
Opening times range from 2.5 seconds on the shortest M-Bar boom to 12 seconds on the longest L-Bar configuration, with Wide models opening from 3.5 to 5 seconds and S4BAR from 4 seconds. All are supplied on 230 V mains with a 24 VDC gearmotor, which allows battery backup through the matching PS series battery to keep the barrier operating through a mains failure.
Cabinets are steel with cataphoresis treatment and paint, or AISI 304 stainless steel where the environment demands it, an option worth taking seriously on coastal sites in the Eastern Province. Protection is IP54 on M-Bar, L-Bar and Wide, and IP44 on S4BAR, with an operating range of minus 20 to plus 55 degrees C on most models. M-Bar and L-Bar include an encoder alongside electromechanical limit switches.

The manuals instead provide a severity-index durability graph with worked examples, which means expected life depends on boom length, accessories and duty in a given installation.
