Iris ID iCAM 7000 Series Iris Recognition Camera
Dual-eye iris recognition reader capturing both irises in under a second at 31 to 35 cm, with embedded matching, optional face capture and smart card reader.
The Iris ID iCAM 7000 Series is a dual iris recognition camera for doors where the identity assurance level has to be higher than a card or a fingerprint can give. It captures both irises simultaneously and outputs standards-compliant iris images in under a second, at a capture range of 31 to 35 cm, with a motorised tilt of plus 35 to minus 25 degrees that adjusts to the user rather than making the user adjust.
The series is offered in four base configurations. The iCAM7000 is the base camera with an embedded 5 MP face camera and flash. The iCAM7010-U1 adds a built-in Omnikey smart card reader for HID iCLASS, MIFARE and other 13.56 MHz cards. The iCAM7101 adds a 4.3 inch colour touchscreen, and the iCAM7111-U1 combines the touchscreen and the card reader. Card options at order include iCLASS, MIFARE, 13.56 MHz, 125 kHz Prox or a pop-up pin pad.
Matching is performed on the device. Default template storage is 5,000 biometric templates per iCAM7000, rising to 100,000 when deployed with an ICU4000 controller, with each record held as a 512-byte encrypted biometric template. Integration is through Ethernet, RS422 and RS232, with Wiegand in and out up to 200 bits, two dry contact relays and four programmable GPIO.
Two planning points for Saudi projects. First, the unit is indoor-rated only at 0 to 45 degrees C and Iris ID states it should not be deployed outdoors without a NEMA enclosure, so lobby-side or vestibule placement is the norm. Second, there is no PoE: power is 12 to 24 VDC from an external supply, 2.0 A at 12 VDC, so allow for a local power run at each reader position.
Note that the iCAM 7000 and 7100 models are a mature generation and Iris ID's successor iCAM 7S Series, which is SIA OSDP Secure Profile Verified and carries 100,000-record onboard identification, should be considered for new specifications.
