ASSA ABLOY's entrance automation range splits into swing operators in the SW family and sliding operators in the SL family. SW100, SW200 and SW300 cover the bulk of specifications, with SW60, SW110, SW150 Slim, SW200 OHC, SW200i-IG, SW200i Fold and SW200 Integra addressing particular door configurations. On the sliding side, SL500 All-Rounder, SL510 Slim, SL521 Telescopic, SL300 and SL600 cover most applications.
The first decision is low energy versus full power. SW100 is a low energy operator certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.19 in the US range and EN 16005 plus EN 60335-2-103 in the European range. SW300 is field-selectable and carries both A156.19 and A156.10, which means one operator can serve a low energy accessible door or a full power automatic entrance depending on how it is commissioned, and it includes a double-acting arm with panic breakout in both directions.
Sliding specification is driven by leaf mass and breakout requirement. SL500 handles 200 kg per leaf in a bi-parting configuration or 240 kg as a single slide, dropping to 150 kg in low energy mode and 100 kg per leaf where breakout is required. Clear opening width ranges from 1,000 to 3,000 mm bi-parting and 800 to 3,000 mm single, at speeds up to 1.4 m/s. SL510 uses a 100 by 198 mm header, SL521 a 120 by 265 mm header at 150 kg per leaf and up to 4,000 mm.
Note a difference in how the two regional ranges are documented, because it affects how a specification should be written. The US range rates swing door systems by leaf weight in pounds against ANSI/BHMA standards, for example SW200i at 100 to 700 lbs. The European range rates operators by door inertia in kgm squared against EN 16005 and DIN 18650, for example SW200 at push 160 and pull 80 kgm squared. Quoting a leaf weight limit against an EN-certified operator is a common specification error.
