Gate automation is judged on duty cycle, not on the day it is commissioned. A villa gate in Riyadh may cycle a dozen times a day; a logistics yard barrier in Dammam will cycle several hundred. BFT builds a graded range that lets a specifier match the operator to the real traffic instead of over- or under-specifying a single model across a whole development.

BFT was founded in 1981 in Thiene, in the Vicenza province of Italy, and moved to its present home in Schio in 1996. Since 2004 it has been part of the Somfy Group. The company today works through more than 530 distributors in over 120 countries, with a portfolio spanning home access and building access automation.

The gate range covers both electromechanical and hydraulic operators. Electromechanical families such as PHOBOS, KUSTOS, ATHOS, IGEA and the long-running E5 suit most residential and light commercial gates, while hydraulic operators including SUB, LUX and GIUNO handle heavy leaves and continuous-duty conditions. Alongside them sit sliding gate operators, road barriers, sectional and folding industrial door automation, and roller shutter drives.

What keeps BFT specified is the electronics. U-LINK provides remote monitoring and service management so a facilities team can diagnose a fault before sending a technician, D-TRACK adjusts operation to compensate for obstacles and wear, and rolling-code transmitters with ER-READY cloning simplify handing out and replacing remotes on a large compound. EasyAXS, introduced in 2024, extends that connectivity further.

In Saudi conditions the accessories matter as much as the motor. Photocells and safety edges must keep working through dust and glare, solar power options such as ECOSOL are genuinely useful at remote farm and site gates with no reliable mains, and sealed control panels survive summer ambient temperatures that punish cheap electronics.
